Bi-fold Shower Enclosure - London

This bi-fold shower enclosure shows how smart design solutions work when space is limited. The brushed nickel finish matches the taps perfectly, while the bi-fold door opens outward to save space in the bathroom.

Working with an Installed Tray

This project shows why it's always best to involve us before tiling starts. The tray was already installed and tiles laid when the client approached us, which limited our design options. The tray sat too deep in the shower with tiles built flush to the white tray edge.

We had two choices for the hinge placement due to limited space on the left wall. We could center it on the upstand but risk water damage to grout, or install the hinge with the fixing plate on the bathroom side and position glass above the tray edge. The client chose the safer second option to prevent water getting between the tray and tiles. Through our custom shower doors, we found solutions that work even when space is tight.

Half-Wall Positioning Challenge

On the right side we have a half-wall, which created another design challenge. We couldn't install the glass centered or close to the edge because we needed to follow the tile joint where white tile meets grey. The glass had to sit exactly on this joint to look right.

Ideally the glass would sit centered on the half-wall or close to the outer edge so the half-wall works as a shelf for bottles and shower items. But because of the tile joint, we had limited options - installing the glass anywhere else would look odd. This shows how existing tile work can limit design choices when we're brought in after construction.

Frameless Bi-fold Design

The bi-fold door opens outward by pushing or pulling one of the panels, making it easy to get in and out even in tight spaces. This shower has no overhead track because it's a frameless installation - our showers are bespoke, not ready-made with chunky frames.

We UV-glued the two fixed screens on the right side so the structure stays solid without needing extra fixtures or top reinforcement bars. The shower door seals are minimalistic and barely visible on the edges - all our shower photos are taken with the seals in place so you can see how neat they look in real use.

How Long for Bi-fold Shower Enclosure Installation?

Frameless corner installations rely on precise glass-to-glass connections and minimal hardware. Your Bi-fold Shower Enclosure timeline depends on measurement accuracy and wall preparation.

📋 Multiple Items: Each additional shower enclosure may extend Design and Installation by approximately 1 working day. However, orders of 5+ units benefit from streamlined production processes that reduce per-unit time. We'll provide an optimized timeline for your specific project.

Tiling Ready

Simplest Process

Your corner is tiled and both walls are ready for frameless installation. We'll measure the exact angles for glass-to-glass connections, then proceed directly with glass production.

Tiling Not Ready

Extended Timeline

Your corner walls need tiling before frameless installation. We'll take rough measurements for design visualization, then return for precise measurements once both walls are tiled.

Initial Visit 1 day

Design & 3D 3 days

Waiting for Tiling Variable
Depends on your tiling schedule
Final Measurements 1 day
Precise measurements once tiling is complete
Design Adjustments 1 day

Glass Production 8 days

💡 Flexible Timeline: The waiting period begins after design confirmation (day 4) and varies based on your tiling schedule. If your tiling is completed during this early period, we can arrange the final measurements earlier and advance the entire schedule - moving final measurements, design adjustments, glass production, and installation to start as early as day 5. The total timeline shows the minimum 15 working days if tiling is ready when design is confirmed.
